L'état major français à annoncé au soir du mardi 18 janvier 2022 que quatre soldats français ont été blessés au Burkina Faso lors de l'explosion d'un engin explosif improvisé ( IED ). L'un d'entre les soldats français est grièvement blessé.
Sur son site, LSI Africa a fait savoir que << plusieurs soldats français sont blessés lors de l'explosion d'un IED au Burkina Faso >>. Selon la même source, l'état major français a donné la précision selon laquelle , l'incident s'est produit dans le nord du pays à la sortie de l'aéroport de Ouahigouya et que c'est quatre soldats français qui dans le passage de leur véhicule tout terrain ont été victimes d'une explosion d'un engin plosif improvisé (IED). Il s'agissait d'une unité de Barkhane en mission de reconnaissance. Les quatre soldats ont été immédiatement évacués vers Gao», au Mali.
Ce qu'il faut savoir, c'est que la zone est beaucoup fréquentée par les djihadistes du GSIM et d'autres groupes djihadistes.
