Dans la nuit du dimanche 29 au lundi 30 mars 2021 le poste de sécurité situé à Kafolo a été visé par une attaque armée. L’information a circulé dans des groupes privés sur les réseaux sociaux en début de matinée du lundi 30 mars, avant d’être confirmée par une source sécuritaire.
"Attaque de la position de Kafolo confirmée. Assaillants repoussés. Opérations de ratissage en cours." a signifié une source sécuritaire au niveau de l’état-major général des armées de Côte d’Ivoire.
Le raid est attribué à des hommes armés non encore identifiés. Selon certaines sources, les assaillants ont enregistré au moins deux pertes en vies humaines dans leurs rangs.
C'est la deuxième fois que le poste de Kafolo, dans le Nord de la Côte d’Ivoire, frontalière avec le Burkina Faso, soit l'objet d'une attaque, courant juin 2020, il avait été visé par un groupe armé. Les forces armées ivoiriennes y avaient perdu une dizaine de soldats.
