Déçu, Guillaume Soro s'interroge : "Et ne suis-je blanchi que dans les travaux guerriers ?"
Ne dit-on pas que celui qui oublie son passé se condamne à la revivre ? C’est dire combien de fois il est important, pour tout Etre humain, d’avoir un regard rétrospectif sur sa vie à l’effet de tirer des leçons de celle-ci. Cela, l’ancien Premier Ministre, Soro Guillaume, l’a si bien compris à tel point qu’il n’a ménagé aucun effort pour l’exprimer en l’introduisant ainsi : « il s’en vient toujours un temps, du regard rétrospectif. Ici, le mien. Et disons avec Don Diègue ».
Comme le personnage meurtri et désespéré, Don Diègue, père de l’intrépide Don Rodrigue, dans le Cid de Pierre Corneille, Guillaume Soro fait une rétrospection, aux colorations de lamentation et de déception, en s’interrogeant en ces termes : « ... Et ne suis-je blanchi dans les travaux guerriers que pour voir en un jour flétrir tant de lauriers ?... »
