Le prix Marc Vivian Foé RFI-France 24 consacrant le meilleur joueur africain évoluant dans le championnat français est lancé depuis mardi 06 avril 2021.
Pour cette édition, onze footballeurs africains dont un ivoirien à savoir Seko Fofana du Racing Club de Lens ont été retenus.
En provenance de l’Udinese en serie A italienne, Seko Fofana est un acteur majeur de l’avancée triomphale du promu le Racing Club de Lens en Ligue 1, classé 5e de ce championnat avec 49 points en 31e journée donc potentiel européen la saison prochaine.
Après Yao Kouassi Gervais, vainqueur de ce prix en 2010 et 2011 sous les couleurs des LOSC de Lille, Jean Mickael Séri en 2017 avec l’OGC Nice, puis Nicolas Pépé en 2019 avec le LOSC, Seko Fofana tentera ainsi de gonfler le palmarès de la Côte d’Ivoire avec une quatrième consécration et détrôner le nigerian Victor Osimhen de Lille avant départ le Napoli en Serie A.
